Goodnestone Park is an idyllic setting for a country wedding in Kent. Goodnestone Park can provide a wide variety of marquees to host the evening celebrations with traditional pole tents and framed tents available. Goodnestone Park is fully licensed to host wedding parties of up to 150<\/span>.\u00a0Goodnestone Park House sleeps up to 24 wedding guests in any of their 12 newly furnished double bedrooms. Also, Goodnestone Park has recently refurbished historical Kent cottage on the estate, it is called Bonnington Cottage, which accommodates up to four other guests.<\/p>\n

Jane Austen was a frequent guest at Goodnestone Park after her brother married into the family in 1791. His was a double wedding that, along with the house, gardens, country dances and local society, inspired her best-loved novel, Pride and Prejudice. Goodnestone Park was built by the Bridges family in 1704. Its early history was populated by multiple Sir Brook Bridges, one of whom married an ancestor of the current Lord FitzWalter in 1756. Dating back to the Norman Conquest, the venerable FitzWalter barony is the third oldest surviving title in the English peerage.<\/span><\/p>\n
