It is always very nice when your work is published . So when as a London wedding photographer you are published in a magazine in another country it feel just that little bit nicer .  There is a wonderful written article about me in the latest issue All about Weddings magazine in Sweden.

I submitted many wedding photos for the magazine editors to choose from weddings from London , destination weddings  and some of my award winning photos . I have to praise them for such a great selection and lay out . I  might use this as my wedding photographer promo piece.

Congratulations Max von Sydow  on your Oscar nomination he received the best supporting actor nomination for his role as the mute ‘renter’ in “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” the film directed by Stephen Daldry . At 82 he has  became one of the oldest Academy Award nominees ever .

I had the pleasure of photographing Max in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hills hotel . I remember getting to the hotel on Wilshere , when Max was having lunch with Charlton Heston and another huge star , I cant remember the name now .  The hotel staff took me to where he was eating and said do you want us to tell him you are here … I declined .

When we finally met I tried my rubbish swedish on him … he appreciated that even more . We spoke about Gotland  and about how beautiful it was there , its  where he had his home ,  it was the first time I had ever heard of the island , he told me I must visit . Since that meeting I have visited Gotland many times , only last month I photographed my first wedding there .

If you look in his eyes you will also see Gotland and what it meant to him.

Best Wedding Photos of 2011

2011 comes to an end  and its time to work out what are my faves of the year .  As a wedding photographer choosing the best wedding photos of the year is very difficult , with so many areas of a wedding ,  modern wedding portraits , reportage photos  or cool details . Its like the Oscars trying to choose best film of the year  is it a romance or a drama ? . I will try to choose 10 wedding photos . Choosing 10 photos is going to be tough . In 2011 I photographed 14 different countries I had incredible destination weddings in Portugal , Sifnos Greece , Chamonix France , Sicily , Thailand  as I say choosing 10 will be tough . It is also time to say congratulations to all those who recieved a ring over the holidays and are getting married in 2012, hope to hear from you soon. Whether you are having a wedding at home or a destination wedding I would love to hear from you , Im more than happy to share my experiences and give you tips ideas and advice to make your wedding day the best it can be.

A winter wedding in Norwich was my last wedding of the year . Amazing venues , spectacular churches, weddings in Norwich  for a wedding photographer are fun . As Neil in his speech said you go to Norwich, you dont past through, its the end of the road.  But this wedding in Norwich was fun, Frances and Neil  with their guest made it fun  from the very start I really enjoyed myself , and here is proof  ” Neil  moves like Jagger ‘  . The wedding was at St Giles House House Hotel , which I loved right in the city center and great for the wedding photographer walking distance to the church. Here are a few photos .

Im just back from photographing a wedding for Brides magazine .  Liz and Kenny were married in Bath .  Liz works at Condenast , her friend Paul Mclaughlin  who works at Glamour magazine was the official wedding photographer , winter weddings are always tough weddings to photograph with not much day light but Paul did an amazing job. The wedding venue in Bath was The Fashion Museum at The Assembly Rooms , very close to Bath  famous landmarks on the Cresent and the Circus . The wedding service was held at  St Swithins Church .

There are many thailand wedding destinations , but the Andara resort must be  very close to top of the list . This wedding venue in Phuket .  The Andara Resort is a collection of luxurious villas overlooking the Andaman Sea with infinity pools , modern designs with tropical landscaping , so it gets a huge thumbs up for destination weddings and destination wedding photographers,  Stevie wanted a platform built on top of the infinity pool , which of course looked spectacular , decorated with incredible Thai wedding details  here are a few more wedding photos

Many could think it was Freddie Ljungberg and Megan Fox had got married in Phuket Thailand , but this is Stevie and Ben , on the flight back from Thailand  yesterday I was looking at all the wedding photography  and the photos from the wedding in Thailand  Phuket. I came across this wedding portrait of Stevie and Ben . I really pleased with the photo as the wedding was delayed two hours because of a rainstorm so the wedding ceremony became a sunset ceremony , so the wedding portraits were after sunset , but even with a very dark sky I love this photo.

Two days after the wedding this weekend in Thailand , I still dont know where to start . Its probably summed up be Stevie the bride saying to me as we are about to be transported to the wedding ceremony at Andara Resorts Phuket , ” Ian you have enough to write Gone with the wind sequel with what happened  so far today ….  she was right because two seconds later  our car reversed directly into the car behind us …  so here are two photos Stevie looking stunning  and the stunning wedding venue of Villa 26 at Andara resorts.
